Many of my Hindi learning subscribers often ask me to make podcast on Hindu religion. I feel little scared of writing & shooting such contents , because I always see people fighting on the name of religion, which I don’t like at all. I don’t like when somebody say their culture is better is shit or even when my religion person says to others that others are shit and we are cool.  I love and respect every person in this earth, every culture , tradition, community and group. Please my dear friends, I love people, I love culture, tradition, food everything that belongs to people. I am in love with people. Rich, poor, white, black, brown, dirty 😛 , clean, lower caste , upper caste nothing matters to me.

REQUEST: Don’t make fun of anything, everything is logical in Hinduism. May be people or I have misinterpreted things. So, read this article as a knowledge point of view.

So, here I am sharing 10 Incarnation of Hindu God Lord Vishnu (विष्णु) also commonly known as Narayana (नारायण) or Hari (हरी). We all know Lord Vishnu took many incarnations time to time to remove the evil forces from the earth and restore Dharma धर्म (religion) and help mankind to liberate from the cycle of birth and death.  Lord Vishnu has got so many names. He is really rich in names 😛

1. Matsya Avatar मत्स्य अवतार (Fish) : Lord Vishnu took form of fish to save human from apocalypse, after which he takes his boat to the new world along with every species of plant and animal gathered in a massive cyclone.

   

2. Kurma Avatar कुर्म अवतार ( Tortoise) : When gods and demons were churning the ocean of milk in order to get the nectar of immortality, the mount of Mandara they were using  as the churning staff started to sink and lord Vishnu took form of tortoise to bear the weight of mountain.

Mohini Avatar : After getting nectar Lord Narayana took form of Mohini, the most beautiful woman in the world to make demons fool from getting nectar , which was only supposed for demons.  One demon still had it, but lord vishunu cut his head off suddenly before the nectar goes down his body. So, his head got immortality.

3. Varaah (Boar): This form of God Narayana appeared to defeat the demon Hiranayaksh, who had taken the earth , carried it to the bottom of what is described as the cosmic ocean in the stories. The battle between Lord Vishnu and Hiranyaksh is believed have lasted for a 1000 year. Finally Varaah carried the earth out of the ocean between his tusk and restored it.

   

4. Narshimha ( Half Man- Half Lion) : He killed the demon Hiranyakashyapu, who was granted powerful boon from god Brahma ( the creator of universe) , not allowing him to be killed by man or animal , inside or outside, day or night, on earth or on stars, with a weapon either living or inanimate. Then lord Vishnu took the form of Narshimha Avatara with body of half human and half lion. He then disembowels demon Haranyakashyapu,  at the courtyard threshold of his house at dusk with his claws while he lay on his thighs.

   

5. Vamana Avatar ( Dwarf) : Although king Mahabali in Hindu story was very virtuous he had became very arrogant of his powers and had taken over the 3 worlds, heaven, earth and hell and had vanished India( lord of heaven) and other gods. Therefore God, Vishnu took this form of Vamana and to remind him humility in a very trick way. It’s a nice story if you know or read in detail. However Vamana Avatar, incarnation of Lord Narayana did not kill king Mahabali. He later appears on Lord Krishna time ( 8^th incarnation time).

   

6. Parshu Ram ( Axe warrior) : First Brahmin warrior who took vow to kill Kshtriyas (warriors) and  filled 5 lakes with their blood.

   

7. Lord Rama / Bhagwaan Ram : The most famous incarnation of lord Vishnu talked by Hindus. His story is recounted as one of the most widely read scriptures of Hinduism, The Ramayana.

   

8. Lord Krishna : Another most famous incarnation of Lord Narayana. The very central character of Bhaagwat Geeta. He is often depicted playing flute and having mischievous behaviors. He is also known as love couple’s god. His love story with goddess Radha, is quite famous among Hindus.

   

9.  Lord Buddha : We all know about lord Buddha, I don’t think I have to write anything about him. Sacrificing the pleasures of palace and wealth, to achieve pure bliss, after years of penance he finally achieved enlightenment and became known as Buddha.

   

10. Kalki “Destroyer of Filth”), is the final incarnation, foretold to appear at the end of Kali Yuga, our present epoch. He will be atop a white horse and his sword will be drawn, blazing like a comet. He is the harbinger of end time in Hindu eschatology, and will destroy all unrighteousness and evil at the end of Kali Yuga.
